A resurgent the Russian player won his initial title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former coach his previous coach.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's initial championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent saved four early chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
