I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
